Will Smith Calls His Gender-Bending Son Jaden ‘100 Percent Fearless’

Jaden Smith has been using fashion choices to challenge traditional views on masculinity again and again, and his movie star father is proud.

"You know, there's a really powerful internal quality as an artist that as parents we encourage," Will Smith said on BBC Radio 1Xtra with A.Dot. "You gotta get out on the edge, you have to try things, you have to be comfortable doing things that people don't agree with and you have to be comfortable doing things that you could fail."

The actor, who most recently starred in "Concussion," added that, "Jaden is 100 percent fearless."

"He will do anything, you know? So as a parent it's scary, it's really terrifying, but he is completely willing to live and die by his own artistic decisions and he just doesn't concern himself with what people think," Will said.

At the end of January, Jaden posed shirtless in a skirt with a flower behind his ear for a picture he posted on Instagram.

Jaden also found himself in the headlines recently when he joined the illustrious ranks of models chosen to represent Louis Vuitton -- for their new women's line.

In both pictures, Jaden sports a black skirt and a mesh, fringed tank top. He appears alongside several female models in one of the photos.
